Employee Spotlight Interview with Maggie Andreen

In your own words, what is your role at ACP/Verticomm?

I am in sales support, under Jennifer Huddle. I help check deals as they go through Salesforce and SalesScoreKeeper. In addition, I'm the Customer Support Manager for Team VP in Denver. I assist my reps with preparing for Partnership Reviews and assist with customer needs.

How long have you been with ACP/Verticomm?

I've been with ACP for 3 years.

Describe where you grew up and how it's special to you.

I grew up in Minnesota, just outside of the Twin Cities. MN is special to me for so many reasons, but mostly because of the people. There is a large sense of community, maybe due to the shared experiences of the blistering cold winters and beautifully sunny summers. I learned to love both, interchangeably. It forces you to appreciate what you have right now and know that soon a new season will come.

What are some of your favorite ways to spend the weekend?

In the winter, my favorite thing to do is to go up to the mountains and snowboard. My summers are usually spent by a pool. When I'm home, I love to spend my time cooking. I get such satisfaction from making other people a delicious meal!

What's your taste in music like? Do you listen to it while you work?

I'm almost always listening to music and my taste can change minute to minute. I love a wide variety of music, from rap and hip-hop, to country, classic rock, blues, EDM. The list goes on and I'm always open to recommendations :)

Do you have any special talents or a hobby you'd like to try?

One of my special talents, outside of cooking, is that I can solve a Rubik's Cube. I taught myself when I was young and still play around with them today. I can only solve the 3x3 but would like to learn harder cubes.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

If I could have a super power, it would be to teleport. I love to travel and to visit my family across the country, but the travel process can be long and draining. If I could be anywhere in a snap, that would be the best thing ever!

Where would you go on your dream vacation?

Right now, my dream vacation would be to Costa Rica. The beaches there look so beautiful. I'd also love to go to Ireland and see the Cliffs of Moher.

Do you have any kids? If so, what's your favorite part about being a parent?

I don't have any children, but I do have 2 cats. They're the center of my world! They are super adventurous but so affectionate.

Do you have a go-to productivity method?

My go-to productivity method is to hand write a list of everything on my plate. From there, I write out their due dates and prioritize based on what is most urgent. Then, I put on some music and knock them out one by one. I work best finishing one task before starting another, although that's not always possible. I try to minimize the amount of things occupying my brain at any given time.

What do you like most about working at ACP?

There are many things I like about working at ACP, but the biggest one is the people. I've met lifelong friends and some of the most genuine people in the world. Spending your day-to-day with good people makes everything so much more enjoyable.

How have you grown professionally since starting at ACP?

I've grown immensely since I started at ACP. I got the job right out of college and it took me some time to come out of my shell. I've learned so much about myself and what interests me, professionally. I've worked in a few roles at ACP and I'm so grateful for each of them, as they've all taught me different things. I'm also grateful for all the people who have invested time and energy in helping me reach my fullest potential.

If you could become an expert on any topic in an instant, what would it be?

Definitely aliens. I've always been super fascinated by space and extraterrestrial life and there is so much always more to learn about it.
